Mount View Constructions recently undertook an extraordinary project—sourcing and installing a handmade terracotta tile facade on the Bendigo Law Courts. This unique facade, crafted from handmade terracotta tiles imported directly from Italy, presented a series of challenges that pushed our team’s skills and adaptability to new heights.
From the outset, the sampling and product procurement process required meticulous planning and attention to detail. The journey to find the perfect terracotta tiles began with extensive research and careful selection, ensuring that the product would meet the high standards of both aesthetics and durability. This process took time, with five months dedicated to manufacturing and transporting the tiles from Italy to Australia.
The installation of this handmade terracotta facade was particularly significant for Mount View Constructions, as it marked the first time in our 30-plus years of operation that we had worked with such a material. This required not only careful planning but also collaboration with overseas manufacturers and experts to ensure the proper handling and development of these tiles. Despite the challenges, our team rose to the occasion, delivering a stunning and durable facade that enhances the architectural beauty of the Bendigo Law Courts.
This project is a testament to Mount View Constructions’ commitment to innovation and excellence, even when faced with new and complex challenges. We are proud to have completed this unique facade and look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of what we can achieve.
